How To Install Custom Android 5.0 Lollipop On Samsung Galaxy S3

  • Remember that this tutorial is compatible for only I9300 model of Samsung Galaxy S3. Don’t try this tutorial for other or same models, else your device may be brick or damage.
  • Before starting to make sure you install CMW Recovery for saving your current ROM.
  • And your device is rooted before installing Android lollipop 5.0 custom ROM.
  • If you do not install the below tools then you are not able to install Android lollipop 5.0 custom ROM.


Basic Requirement:


Backup your important data and keep on the safe location.

Make sure your Galaxy S3 battery power is more than 50%.

Download the Android 5.0 Lollipop custom ROM file and save on the desktop for easy access from here.

Download arter 97 custom kernel from here.

download USB drivers from here

Enable developer option just go to setting>about phone>software information> build number and click on the 5 or 8 time then you will be notified by a message “you are developer

If you are already a developer then skip this step.

Now enable USB debugging option, simply go to setting>developer option and enable USB debugging

How To Install Custom Android 5.0 Lollipop On Samsung Galaxy S3

Step 1:  connect your Galaxy S3 with your PC via USB cable.

Step 2: now place the Nandroid backup file on /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup.

Step 3: disconnect the USB cable from your PC and powered off your Galaxy S3.

Step 4: Now boot your smartphone to Recovery mode.

Step 5: On the recovery first select the “wipe data factory reset”, then “wipe cache partition” and last “wipe dalvick cache”.

Step 6: Then choose Backup and Restore option and simply restore backup in order to install Android 5.0 lollipop.

Step 7: keep in mind, now you select the “choose zip from SD card” and then follow “install zip from SD card”


That’s it! Keep join the Android 5.0 lollipop on your Samsung Galaxy S3.
